Rua was formed in 2000 by Liz Madden and Gloria Mulhall. Their original songs and music crossed over many genres including Irish traditional, Classical, Symphonic and Folk music. They performed worldwide and had many of their compositions featured in TV/Film and on compilations globally. In 2001 they were signed to the Celtic Collections label and released their self-titled debut album later that year. Their second album Dream-Teller, which featured a narration by Irish actor Gabriel Bryne, was released in 2003. Their final album together, Whisper, was released worldwide in 2007. In 2008 both ladies went onto solo careers. It was with great sadness that Gloria Mulhall passed away suddenly in 2014.
